McCrory offers reward in shooting of Shelby police officer

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Governor Pat McCrory announced today that the State is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in the shooting of Shelby Police Officer, Tim Brackeen.

Brackeen, 38, was shot early Sunday morning while searching for a person who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Investigators have identified 23-year-old Irving Lucien Fenner Jr. as the suspected gunman.

Brackeen served 12 years in the Shelby Police Department.

He passed away Monday morning in the hospital, according to WSOC.
