Pedestrian struck in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A pedestrian had to be rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle along Capital Boulevard in Raleigh early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. near Huntleigh Drive.

Images from Chopper11 HD showed the southbound lanes of Capital Boulevard had to be blocked for a short time while crews loaded the victim into an ambulance.

Details surrounding the accident, including the pedestrian's name and condition, have not been released at this time.
