SPENCER, NC (WTVD) -- The Polar Express train ride returns to North Carolina this Friday at the State Transportation Museum.

The magical story comes to life when the train departs the depot in Spencer, which is about 2 hours west of Raleigh, for a journey to the North Pole.

Hot chocolate and other treats will be served as passengers read along with the classic children's book.

Families are encouraged to wear pajamas for the ride and join in on the magic of Christmas. Insider tip - Santa will be there, too!

The Polar Express runs through Dec. 22. Click here for ticket information.
