Portable heater donations needed as cold snap approaches

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Brutally cold temperatures are about to grip the area.

Now, Raleigh's Helping Hand Mission needs the public's help to keep needy families warm.

The mission is running very short on heaters.

Monday, they turned away more than 70 people, and the waiting list keeps growing longer.

If you'd like to help, head to the New Bern House at 501 New Bern Avenue. It's open 24 hours a day.
