Authorities investigate possible link between Durham shooting and deadly crash

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating a possible link between a shooting and a deadly crash that occurred overnight Saturday.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Lodestone Drive. Evidence of a shooting was found at the scene, but no injured people were there.

Shortly afterward, police and the Durham County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) were called to a crash in the 3400 block of Wake Forest Highway. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
