CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- Emergency crews are investigating a fire at a home in Chatham County after reports of an explosion.

Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire at a two-story home in the 800 block of Lystra Road in Chapel Hill.

Authorities told ABC11 crews a mother and daughter were home at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

A neighbor told ABC11 the husband grew up in the neighborhood and lives in the homes with his own family.

"It's heartbreaking, especially at this time of the year. You know like during Christmas," said neighbor Mark Moldenhauer. "We're thinking we might have a house they might be able to use..that's vacant right now. And his wife and baby will have a place to stay."

Investigators are still working to find the cause of the fire.
