Barricaded suspect taken into custody by Rocky Mount police

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Rocky Mount Police Department have taken someone into custody after an hours-long standoff at an apartment complex in the Rolling Meadows area.

People were being asked to avoid Sled Court, Boyd Court, Baber Court, Boone Street beside the apartment complex, and the Rolling Meadows Apartment Complex. That shelter in place order has since been lifted.

Chopper 11 showed officers escorting people out of their apartments to safety earlier this morning.

ABC11 is working to find out the name of the person taken into custody.
