Woman who allegedly stole PTA money surrenders in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday afternoon a former PTA treasurer who allegedly took more than $10,000 has surrendered herself to authorities.

Warrants were issued for 28-year old Emily Morgan Robinson. Robinson served as treasurer for Stedman Elementary School from August through November, 2014.

Detectives started investigating late last year after discrepancies were found in a school PTA bank account.

Deputies say Robinson wrote herself checks from the account and did not deposit cash from fundraisers.
