CARY, NC (WTVD) -- Town of Cary officials say a fox that attacked a jogger and two dogs Wednesday morning on a greenway near Lantern Ridge Lane off Green Level Church Road has tested positive for rabies.
It happened around 7 a.m.
Cary police euthanized the fox and the remains were sent to the state lab for testing.
The jogger is getting medical treatment. The dogs were current with their rabies vaccinations and were given booster shots by their vet.
"Thankfully, this morning's incident involved a fast-acting citizen and responsible pet owner," said Assistant Police Chief Scott Davis.
