Fayetteville man shot while sitting on front porch

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fayetteville man was shot while sitting on his front porch Thursday evening.

Police say the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Sherman Drive when someone walked up to the man and opened fire, striking him in the neck.

He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in serious condition.

Police are still looking for the shooter, but they say the shooting was not a random act.
