McDonald's employee shot in Holly Springs
Police say a robber met a McDonald's employee at her Raleigh apartment, kidnapped her at gunpoint, and forced her to return to the Holly Springs restaurant so he could rob it.

HOLLY SPRINGS, NC (WTVD) -- Police say a robber met a McDonald's restaurant employee at her Raleigh apartment in the 1200 block of Schaub Drive, kidnapped her at gunpoint, and forced her to return to the Holly Springs restaurant so he could rob it around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The 27-year-old woman -- whose name has not been released -- was shot and wounded while making her escape. She was able to drive herself to the hospital where she was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.

Investigators said the robber forced the victim back into her own vehicle and made her drive back to the restaurant off Highway 55.

The restaurant was closed when they arrived at McDonald's. When the man got out of the vehicle, the woman drove away. That's when she was shot.

The suspect was described as a short, thin black man wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, black gloves, dark pants, and also a dark cover over his face. He was armed with a silver revolver. The man was last seen near McDonald's on foot.

Holly Springs investigators are working with Raleigh police detectives on the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Mike Stone of the Holly Springs Police Department at (919) 567-4708.
