The islands were hit hard when Hurricane Irma came barreling across the Atlantic Ocean. Those living in the Triangle who have friends and family there said people are still being pulled from the rubble.

Being so far away, many with personal ties to the islands are coming together to raise money.

The devastation from the storm has brought them together with other locals who once called the islands their home. They're teaming up to raise money.

"The least that we can do is try to raise as much money and awareness, get as many donations as we can and get them to the people that are still struggling," Kolarov said.

The event is from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The brewery is at 518 Pershing Road in Raleigh.
