Tar Heels to 'stripe out' Kenan Stadium for SDSU game
CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- The UNC Tar Heels announced a new twist to the football season with "Kenan Stadium Tar Pit Stripe Out."
The team will wear Carolina Blue and black uniforms for the September 6 game against San Diego State, and are encouraging fans to also wear Carolina blue or black based on their ticketed section.
Carolina students are asked to wear all black for the Tar Pit student section in the west end zone.
"We wanted to create an event and an environment that continues to connect our team to The Tar Pit," UNC head coach Larry Fedora said. "Carolina blue is our school color but we want to incorporate the black tar from the Tar Heel foot logo and build on the success of last year's Zero Dark Thursday game."
San Diego State vs. UNC airs at 8pm, September 6 on ESPNEWS.
