GREENSBORO (WTVD) -- Donald Trump made his first public appearance in North Carolina in three months and his first since becoming the Republicans' presumptive presidential nominee with a fiery speech in Greensboro.

Trump took the stage shortly before 7 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum on Tuesday night, the same day as his 70th birthday. He spoke for nearly an hour.

"If you don't discuss the problem and can't say the real name, we have a radical Islamic terrorist problem, folks," Trump told the crowd, taking aim squarely at President Obama.

The event comes a day after he delivered a speech in New Hampshire on national security and immigration in light of last weekend's mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that left 50 people dead. Trump vowed if elected to impose a broad ban on immigration from areas of the world with a history of terrorism.

The executive director of the state Republican Party said he expected Trump's speech to be heavy on foreign policy and touch on the Orlando mass shooting.

"Radical Islam discriminates against no one, black or white, gay or straight, man or woman," said Dallas Woodhouse, executive director of the NC GOP. "And we've got to have someone in the White House that understands that and can lead us to safety and protecting Americans, and I think Mr. Trump is the right guy to do that."
