Raleigh couple charged with attempted murder of teen

RALEIGH -- A Raleigh couple is accused of trying to kill a girl they were caring for in a group home, police said Friday.

Verrone Nicosia Oneal, 36, and Shatuana Nicole McGee, 42, are charged with intentional child abuse and attempted murder for a crime that happened in April.

Court documents show the couple was providing respite care for the 15-year-old girl, and she had a number of serious injuries.

Oneal and McGee are both being held on a $1.5 million bond.
