A suspected drunk driver crashed into a jewelry store on Main Street in Wake Forest.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A suspected drunk driver crashed into a jewelry store on Main Street in Wake Forest.

The crash happened late Wednesday night.

Investigators said the driver of the vehicle veered off the road and slammed through a wall of Vianna Jewelers.

For the past 10 years Vianna Jewelers has rented the building, subletting office spaces in the back to other small business owners. Many of those offices were damaged in the crash that sent the driver to the hospital.

No one else was injured. The owner of Vianna Jewelers says last night was rough but today she's focusing on rebuilding, but it will take some time and hefty repairs to get these businesses back up and running.

"We're a little family so it'll all get rebuilt. It's not an issue. I'm old enough to have a little better perspective than a young business owner and everyone is insured, right? That's why you have insurance," Vianna jewelers' owner Vicki Robin said.

Wake Forest police say the driver only had minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
