Pedestrian hit by car on I-40 W, causes major backup

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was hospitalized after getting hit by a car on I-40 W Monday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. between Rocky Quarry and Hammond Road.

The pedestrian's condition is not known.

Several lanes are closed until the investigation is finished. This has a caused a major backup on I-40 W.
