Durham police investigating Waffle House armed robbery

DURHAM (WTVD) -- It happened around 5:13 a.m. at the south Durham restaurant on East NC-54.

According to a 911 caller, three men wearing masks entered the restaurant armed with guns and tied employees up before taking a safe.

The caller told authorities the suspects came from a wooded area and fled back into the same area after the crime.

Further details surrounding the incident, including if anyone was hurt, have not been released at this time.
