Police looking for suspect in Waffle House shooting in Graham

GRAHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Authorities in Alamance County are looking for an alleged gunman who shot a man in a Waffle House restaurant early Thursday morning.

It happened just after 3 a.m. at the Waffle House on East Harden Street in Graham, which is about 54 miles west of Raleigh.

When officers arrived at the restaurant, they found Brandon Sharpe suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to UNC Hospital by Alamance County EMS in unknown condition.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an altercation with a man named Andrew Ward.

Ward fled the scene after the shooting and was last seen heading east on Highway 54 towards Chapel Hill in a black BMW 350i 4-door sedan with NC license plate DDL-3438.

Authorities are currently searching for the 28-year-old, who is described as a white man with blonde short hair, blue eyes, and stands about 5' 10".

A warrant has been issued for Ward for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Police said he is considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation is ongoing.
