A downtown Fayetteville museum closes after 6-year-old is injured.

According to The Fascinate-U Children's Museum's Director Susan Daniels part of an exhibit structure collapsed and fell on a 6-year-old girl.

It was part of a drop ceiling connected to an exhibit wall, that has been there for 10 years.

The girl was taken to Cape Fear Medical Center and treated with four stitches to her head.

Afterward, Daniels says the girl came back to the museum and played.

The museum, located on Green Street, is currently closed for repair and to make sure an accident doesn't happen again.

Daniels says the museum will not be open Thursday, but hopes they can reopen by Friday.
