Deputies responded to a gunshot call around 8:19 p.m. Wednesday on Birdsong Lane in Timberlake. When they arrived, they discovered two people shot.
The victims were identified as 33-year-old Bryant Roberts and his wife, 30-year-old Heather Sloan Roberts. Deputies say the couple was visiting the home when 43-year-old Michael Norris Lawing, Jr. also stopped by for a visit.
During that time, an argument escalated. The Roberts were airlifted to Duke Medical Center where they both died from their injuries.
Lawing is charged with two counts of murder and is being held in the person County Detention Center without bond.
