Authorities say the suspect entered the homes through unlocked front doors. In one of the residences, two victims awoke to a man standing in their bedrooms waving a cell phone in their faces.
In the other house, the victim woke up when the suspect was rubbing her leg. In both burglaries, the man ran from the house when the female victims yelled.
The suspect in both incidents is described as a six foot tall African American man with a medium build, very short hair - possibly bald - wearing what was described as a blue or possibly olive green short sleeve shirt.
Police are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows and report all suspicious activity immediately to police by calling 911.
Anyone with information concerning the identity of the suspect or the recent burglaries should contact either the Chapel Hill Police Department at (919)968-2760 or Crime Stoppers at (919)942-7515.
Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.
