In court, 57-year-old Northie Mcartan Jr., of Smithfield, was convicted of two counts of secret peeping. He received 12 months probation. Mcartan was found not guilty of sexual battery. He was ordered by a judge not to be employed at or operate a tanning salon and have no contact with the victims.
"The District Attorney's Office is pleased with the convictions and the sentence imposed. The victims have always been most concerned that this never happen to anyone else," said Assistant District Attorney Paul Jackson. "We are thankful they have closure and that the defendant has been held accountable."
Mcartan was also ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation.
