WAKE COUNTY

According to Bill Poston with the Wake County Public School System, Bus-567 rear-ended a car in Morrisville shortly after 8 a.m.

There were no students on the bus when it hit the car at NC-55 and McCrimmon Parkway.

A trooper at the scene told ABC11 that the car hit by the bus rear-ended another car, which hit a third car from behind. No one was injured, but one of the cars had to be towed away from the scene.

An investigation revealed the school bus driver, Anthony Moore, was traveling at about 45 miles per hour, and was not distracted when the accident happened.

The 18-year veteran driver has been charged with failing to slow down to avoid an accident.

Moore, who is assigned to the Green Hope transportation district, is currently under review by the school system.
