Two sexual assaults reported in Fayetteville

Fayetteville police are investigating two sexual assaults reported within two days in broad daylight.

Police said the first incident happened Saturday around 4:30 p.m. The victim told authorities she got into an altercation with two white males under the Person Street bridge, and then the suspects attempted to sexually assault her.

The next day another sexual assault was reported around 2:20 p.m. In Sunday's assault the victim said she was sexually assaulted in the vicinity of North Cool Spring Street and Meeting Street by two black males.

Police have not released any other details, but both cases remain under investigation.
