The unidentified driver was rushed to the hospital in unknown condition.

Authorities are still investigating the incident and have not released any other details.

Captain Jimmy Stevens says they had an early-morning chase with a motorcycle. He says that around 1:30 this morning, one of their deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on Riley Hill Road, in the eastern part of the county. The motorcyclist was not interested in getting a ticket thus he roared off. The chase was very short as the motorcyclist crashed. Charges against the motorcyclist are pending. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation.
