Suspects arrested in Raleigh bar shooting that left 1 dead

RALEIGH

The shooting happened around midnight inside the Bar and Billiards on South Saunders Street.

Authorities tell ABC11 that it started off as a fight that quickly escalated.

Officers said the victim was 26-year-old Marcus Owens.

Owens was taken to WakeMed Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police say Owen died from his injuries Friday.

Authorities have charged 29-year-old Dudley Lamar Kee and 23-year-old James Keith Nelson with murder in connection with Owens' death.

Kee and Nelson were taken into custody early Sunday morning in Petersburg, Va. after Raleigh police developed information concerning their location.

With the assistance of local authorities, the suspects were arrested at a motel where they had been staying. The suspects remain in Virginia pending extradition.
