Two shootings in Durham

The Durham Police Department is investigating a pair of shootings in the city Tuesday night.

The first happened just before 8 p.m. on Wabash Street in the McDougald Terrace housing complex. Police said 18-year-old Michael Gibson was shot in the lower extremities. He was hospitalized with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting happened just after 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Cook Road. Police said 17-year-old Tylahand Hughes was also shot in the lower extremities and hospitalized with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
