Katy ISD says the suspects entered the school through what they are describing as a "faulty door" at about 10:30am Thursday.
They then tell us the 15-year-old female student was found safe and unharmed almost two hours later. She was found about a half a mile away at Cullen Park by a Katy ISD police officer. We're told the student knew the suspects.
Katy ISD says they sent an email blast to all parents of this campus informing them of the suspected kidnapping. The students were informed later via an intercom announcement during seventh period.
"Some of the people kind of panicked a little bit, and everything was just silent all around," student Jonathan Aguilar said.
"It's supposed to be a safe environment so you think to yourself well why did it happen?" student Alex Castillo said.
Three suspects have been arrested. Jerrod Guinn, and Elmer Leija Mendoza, both 17, are facing felony kidnapping charges. A third suspect, a minor, has also been charged.
Officials with the school district say the faulty door has been repaired.
