GREENSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Vice President Kamala Harris visited Greensboro on Thursday during her campaign for the Biden administration.

Her visit comes as the state remains a crucial battleground on the road to the White House.

"I'm exploring and I'd like to hear from her," said voter Annette Heilman. "She could easily be our next president."

Heilman voted for President Donald Trump four years ago and is now on the fence about who she will support this year.

"I think there is a lot of controversial issues about both candidates," she said.

Heilman is among hundreds that filled the gymnasium of Dudley High School, which is Guilford County's first Black high school. The Biden-Harris campaign turned it into a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris who spoke to healthcare, Project 2025, and the Supreme Court decision last week.

"If the Supreme Court says the laws do not apply to Donald Trump, if extremists in Congress continue to bow down to him, if people like Mike Pence are not around the stand up to him, our last line of defense is the ballot box," said Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to a new ABC News poll, two-thirds of Americans say Biden should step aside based on his debate performance two weeks ago.

"I am concerned, however, there is no alternative. I lost my job under the Trump administration along with millions of other Americans," said Andy Holman, another voter.

There was a variety of issues that were top of mind for voters that attended the rally including education, healthcare, voting rights, and immigration.

VP Harris was hoping to drum up support from voters. She even left them with a question.

"Do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion, and rule of law or a country of chaos, fear, and hate," she said.

This trip marks the Vice President's sixth to North Carolina this year and 14th visit since taking office. She was last in Greensboro in September 2023 and visited NC A&T on her "Fight for Our Freedoms" College Tour.

The Vice President stopped at NC A&T to talk to students about the importance of voting.

First lady Jill Biden made another campaign stop in the state with a visit to Wilmington on Monday.

Harris' next stop will be in Philadelphia on Saturday.
