Toledoans hot for new 'Madden 09' game

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - It was a long night for video game players who had to be among the first to get "Madden 09."

The 20th anniversary edition of the longest-running franchise in sports video games went on sale went on sale just after midnight.

At a Toledo Best Buy store, Don Pickron and Zach Geisel said they planned to play the game all night once they got their copies. They joked that they wouldn't put the joysticks down until next year's Madden comes out.

Brian Delph, 25, of Sandusky got an advance copy of the new game as a participant on the ESPN reality TV show "Madden Nation." Delph says Madden 09 is one of the best in the series and tougher than last year's.
