Despite that, $1641 came out of her checking account.
"When I called and canceled they said it would probably be a month before you get your refund check. I said 'Okay, fine,'" recalled Jones.
That was October. Three months later, she was still waiting for a refund.
"Every time I called they would say they're behind - it's going to be two weeks three weeks. Finally, they told me December 31st.
When New Year's Day arrived and still no check, Jones called ABC11 Eyewitness News Troubleshooter Diane Wilson.
We called Auto One more than two dozen times - each time being told different times when Jones would get her check. Finally, we got in touch with the right manager and within a few days, FedEx was at Jones' door.
"When I opened it, it was like I won the Publishers Clearing House," she said. "I ripped it open and I said 'This is my check,' and I said 'Hooray, Diane Wilson, I love you.'"
Now, Jones has advice for others.
"Do not say you will buy anything over the phone, don't give your credit card number, do not do like I did give your bank account number like I did. That's the biggest mistake of my life," she said.
The rep with Auto One Warranty did not explain why there was a delay - just stated Jones would get her full refund.
