Former Governor Mike Easley's right hand man and legal counsel, Ruffin Poole, is expected to turn himself in Thursday.

A federal grand jury indicted Poole last week on 51 corruption counts, including bribery, extortion and money laundering.

Some experts believe the indictment is a sign of how federal prosecutors are building their case against Easley.

Poole also is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday.
