Amtrak scrapes by car

DURHAM Durham police say the driver had cleared the guard rail near Ellis Road and Angier Avenue, but he thought the train was going to hit his car so he backed up.

The Amtrak train clipped the corner of the vehicle causing minor damage.

No one was hurt, but the accident did cause the Carolinian to run about 40 minutes behind schedule.
