The sheriff's office said Deputy Jeff Martin was hit by a car Saturday during a traffic stop in Knightdale.
Martin was released from the hospital Sunday morning.
Last November, Martin was shot when he responded to a domestic dispute in Wendell.
Martin was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time which authorities said likely saved his life.
