The North Carolina Republican Party has hired Donald Trump to be the featured speaker at its convention in June.

Trump will give the keynote at the opening day dinner on June 1 in Greensboro.

"Donald Trump is an entrepreneurial icon. He is someone who has invested time and money into making North Carolina a better place to live and work. At a time when North Carolinians, just like the rest of the country, are wondering how to get our economy going again, I can think of nobody more qualified to speak about entrepreneurship and job creation than Donald Trump," said NCGOP Chairman Robin Hayes. "As a dedicated conservative, successful businessman, and inspiration to many, Donald Trump will provide our convention with a unique energy and excitement."

The dinner will be held at the Koury Convention Center.
