Burglar strikes Morrisville business

MORRISVILLE, N.C.

A burglar made off with more than $15,000 worth of equipment but not before he was caught on video. Now, the owner of the business hopes that someone will recognize the suspect.

It happened at Breeze Building Services, on Bear Cat Way, at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The thief, who was wearing gloves, first smashed a back window in a van and started unloading tools into his own car which was parked in the adjacent space.

After that, he smashed the door to the business and made repeated trips into the shop stealing even more gear.

"[He was] very brazen. He took his time. He was here well over a half an hour," said the owner of Breeze Building Services, Jason Rekdahl. "And that to me is pretty bold because anybody could have pulled up in this complex and saw him even at that odd hour of the night."

Rekdahl said he now regrets there were no alarms on the van or the building. He's hoping the video will help catch the person responsible.

Anyone with information on the break-in or the man in the video should contact the Morrisville Police Department.
