The State Highway Patrol said a car driven by a 47-year-old Yvette Renee Kennedy, of Youngsville, ran into the trees on the side of the road while traveling southbound.
Troopers said Kennedy crossed the center line, over corrected and then ran off the road.
The road was closed in both directions for hours near Jack Jones Road because of the wreck.
The Highway Patrol's preliminary investigation showed speed was not a factor in the crash.
