The child was discovered unresponsive around 6 p.m. Thursday at his home in the 7600 block of Trappers Road, which is just north of Fayetteville.
The child's body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Neither the child's identity nor how he died has been released by police.
