On Sunday, RunRaleigh Races, Tobacco Road Marathon, nOg Run Club, Big Boss Run Club, Raleigh Galloway, City of Oaks Marathon and many other local organizations gathered for a Boston Memorial Run at Moore Square.

The race's organizer Kaz Yahyapour had crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon a few minutes before the first explosion. Yahyapour is also the race director for the Tobacco Road Marathon held in Wake County.
Among the participants were several who ran in this year's Boston Marathon.
"I know everybody was eager to get back to running and feel good about it and just have an experience that was positive again," marathon runner Michelle Ames said.
On Monday at 6 p.m., another event called A Mile in Memory will be held at the corner of Wilmington and Morgan streets.
The one-mile event is organized by Mariah Bridges.
"I see how we come together even in races, strangers cheer people on and I thought why can't we do both. Why can't be come together and support. You know, we're all Boston runners for one moment. We're all Americans and we're all coming together to support this awful tragedy," she explained.
Anyone who wants to take part in Monday's run is asked just to show up.
