6 arrests made in Moore County grave desecrations

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Deputies in Moore County have arrested six people in connection with several cemetery vandalism cases.

Authorities received reports from employees at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines and Summerhill Church Cemetery in Carthage.

They say about 30 brass flower vases had been stolen from grave sites and that head stones were also damaged in some cases.

Investigators were able to find the stolen vases and identified six suspects.

Their charges range from disturbing a casket or grave marker to felony larceny.
