GREENVILLE, North Carolina -- A man wanted in connection with a deadly bank robbery in South Carolina and another armed holdup in Wilson was arrested Wednesday in Greenville - thanks to an anonymous tip.
Greenville Police Department spokesperson Kristen Hunter said Brandon Council was arrested near the Baymont Inn and Suites along Memorial Drive shortly after the department received a tip from someone who recognized the car Council was driving from the news, WCTI reports.
Hunter said Council attempted to run after being pulled over but was quickly captured by officers.
Hunter said two other individuals who were in the car with Council were also brought in for questioning.

The investigation is being handled by the FBI, which will take charge of Council following his arrest by Greenville PD.
"This was good work by our police officers and good work by one of our citizens," Hunter said.
Council is wanted for a holdup at the BB&T in Wilson on August 10 and in a robbery of the CresCom Bank in Conway, South Carolina, on Monday where two bank employees were killed.
