NEWFOUNDLAND, Canada (WTVD) -- Police in Canada are investigating how a woman managed to drive off a cliff in Newfoundland.
It happened Sunday on Signal Hill, which overlooks the city of St. John's and is popular with tourists for its old fortifications and walking paths.
Investigators say a 20-year-old woman somehow crashed through a gate and plunged over the cliff.
She either jumped or was thrown from the vehicle and was quickly rescued. Her car was left dangling partway down the cliff face.
A towing company was able to pull the car back up. The woman suffered serious injuries in the accident.
