Fayetteville police said forensic evidence collected in 2010 helped identify former Ft. Bragg soldier Joshua Richardson as the suspected killer.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fayetteville Police Chief Kem Braden was joined by others to update the public on a unresolved homicide investigation that dates back to 2010.

Officials spoke about a former Fort Bragg soldier who was arrested in Texas and charged with killing a Fayetteville man.

Joshua Aaron Richardson, 41, is facing first-degree murder charges. Investigators said while he was stationed at Fort Bragg he stabbed Terrance Omar Plummer Jr. multiple times inside a home on Rhew Street.

The murder took place on May 31, 2010, but no arrests were made until February, 2023.
