DURHAM (WTVD) -- Nearly 300,000 local children rely on free and reduced meals during the school year. Now, we're joining a local effort to make sure they get the food they need.
"Summertime is always a tough time...keep them nourished," said Gideon Adams with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern N.C.
That's why the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in Durham is kicking off its Stop Summer Hunger Food Drive.
We're hoping to provide 3.2 million meals to kids this summer. We would love to have your donations.
The Food Bank accepts both food and money.
