CARY, N.C. -- March brings the climax of the college basketball season and a fundraising drive by the foundation created to remember former North Carolina State University basketball coach Jim Valvano.

The Cary-based V Foundation says it has promotions beginning Sunday that help it raise money to battle cancer when consumers buy video games or go out to eat.

V Foundation CEO Susan Braun says the distributor of Corona beers will make a donation to the group's cancer fight with each case of Corona Extra or Corona Light sold.

Guests at dozens of Applebee's restaurants run by Apple Gold Group can order as part of a month-long promotion starting Thursday. Sony Computer Entertainment America lets PlayStation gamers who buy video content enter a sweepstakes for a chance to compete against celebrities.
