Larry Stogner receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Sanford

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Sanford area Chamber of Commerce honored former ABC11 anchor Larry Stogner with the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award on Thursday.

Past honorees include Richard Petty, Charlie Daniels, and Jim Hunt, among others.

Larry announced his retirement from Eyewitness News in January after he learned he's been diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.

In February, Governor Pat McCrory presented Larry with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. The honor is presented to people who have a proven record of service to the State of North Carolina.
