Gov. Pat McCrory was named to humor publication MAD Magazine's "20 Dumbest List" for his role in the passing of House Bill 2.

The News & Observer reports MAD calls McCrory a "stall cop" and mocked up a spoof poster of Paul Blart: Mall Cop with McCrory's image.

"Keeping North Carolina Bathrooms Safe From Transgender Persons Who Want to Take a Whizz," the caption reads.

MAD writes McCrory is responsible for costing North Carolina hundreds of millions of dollars in tourism and federal funds through his support of HB2.

HB2 was designed to block a Charlotte non-discrimination ordinance, part of which allowed transgender people to use bathrooms and locker rooms of the gender they identify with. The state law requires people to use the restroom according to their biological sex listed on their birth certificate in government buildings, schools, and universities. The law also excludes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from anti-discrimination protections and blocks municipalities from adopting their own anti-discrimination and living wage rules.

"It may be up to McCrory himself to travel the state, poking his head into as many restrooms as he can, making sure they're being used only by those he approves of," MAD wrote.
