Couple injured in reported drive-by shooting in Fayetteville
Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting after a couple reported being shot at while driving down the road early Monday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting after a couple reported being shot at while driving down the road early Monday morning.

Shortly after midnight, police were alerted about a shooting in the 200 block of Gillespie Street.

Authorities said a woman told police she was driving on Eastern Boulevard near Martin Luther King, Jr. with her husband when their vehicle was shot at by an unknown suspect.

The couple suffered non-life threatening wounds, and were able to drive the vehicle to the Cumberland County Detention Center to report the incident before being taken to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives are investigating the incident.
