Lee County sheriffs arrest heroin trafficking suspect

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- After a yearlong investigation, narcotics agents from the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged a man on Monday with numerous drug and heroin related charges.

Remese McKoy, 45, was charged with 2 counts of trafficking heroin by possession, 2 counts of trafficking by delivering heroin, 2 counts of trafficking heroin by sell, 2 counts of trafficking by transportation of heroin, and 1 count and possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin.

He was also charged with 3 counts of felony maintaining a vehicle for the storage and sale of an illegal controlled substance and 3 counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

McKoy was jailed under a $1,200,000 bond.

Officials said more charges are pending.

Lee County sheriffs were assisted in their investigation by the North Carolina SBI, Harnett County Sheriff's Office, and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.
